Analysis provides you support to sell grain. To make a choice to sell grain or control a margin, you need to take a view on the market. Is it worth holding grain? What or should I sell? What factors are affecting the price. It is no longer practical to just sell it off the header being naive of the facts. Gross margins are too slim to be this laissez-faire.

Prices

Know what someone might pay for your grain is not enough any more. Clear Grain Exchange is the Australian grain markets only source of firm grain prices - actual offers, bids & trades. Find our what someone will/has paid. What are your neighbours getting or want for their grain. What are the traders getting for your neighbours grain. Prices are ok but is anyone selling?
